just to prove Mr Lincoln R wrong.

I always fill mine, start the car and let it idle, keep topping it off, when the thermostat opens it will drop quite a bit, keep filling it untill the motor is up to normal operating temp. squeeze the upper radiator hose to burp out the air, put some water in the over flow and top off the radiator one last time then put the cap on.

you should be fine after that.

yeah i'm pretty sure that the valve is under the radiator itself if not then just lossen up the lower radiator hose and then stand back
