check the gasket on the valve cover to see if its seated correctly since you say they didnt install it right, and if you havent, check ur return lines, where is the oil mostly located?

The thing that has oil all over it is the thing you stick the dip stick into.. on the bottom of it.. there is like.. fresh oil all on that... on the bottom of it.. Know what thing I am talking about? Sry

could u have possibly bent it and broken it open towards the bottom? that would explain losing so much oil....
