Unhappy Eg Brakes

After Bumping gas i got in my car and started drivingit and when im coming up to a stop the brakes were suddenly hard as hell pretty much how they are when the cars off

i was told its most likely the brake booster cause none of the hoses are leaking.sounds right?

if so would a junkyard brake booster do the job?

HEELLLLPPPP!!!!

But if it's any help, I bought a fairly shiny booster (amongst not so shiny ones) from a junkyard and it solved my squishy break problem. 10 bucks ^_^
