i just got a 96 teg and the motor was blown,i got a whole gsr swap from a friend but its a 2001 teg
my question is will the ecu and wire harness fit the 96?

so my best bet is to change the whole daash harness to obd2b

Run your stock harness and OBD2a ecu and change plugs on the sensors in the engine bay as needed. The OBD2b GSR ecu has an immobilizer in it as well.
