Default 92 Civic, Radiator Hose Insert, Temp Problem

I have a k24a2 swapped EG using Hybrid Racing Conversion Harness. I've been running it withouth a temperature reading on the cluster for a while now. No problem since im running the fan with hondata kpro at 182* no check engine, no overheating, no problem. I got tired of looking at the dead temperature gauge so i opted to fix this and for some added peace of mind.

I picked up a brand new cylinder head temperature sensor from honda
and a Blox water temperature adapter/radiator hose insert.

Before i do anything i take the blue wire labeled "temp gauge" and ground it and my needle reads Hot. Good

I install the sensor and adapter into place. Slap my blue wire on the sensor and ground the housing via screw for it to chassis.

My needle stays "Hot" and wont budge.

Thinking and Ruling things out. I swapped out the sensor with a known working one from my integra outside and nothing. The sensor in question worked flawlessly in the integra. That Rules the Sensor out.

I tried switching grounds, switching sensors, undoing and doing. Nothing!! it only Reads HOT!! i've spent my money, bought and leaked my antifreeze i just purchased and im very sad and upset.

you should dtich that adapter that isnt really accurate i kinda had the same problem they sell a fitting that goes near were the fuel rail goes on the right of the motor kinda like a step down fitting to were you screw your temp guage at you can use a bseries one also and itll work fie that what i did with mine

i thought about using the step down adaptor that goes uptop by the manifold. But here's the question. What does the radiator adaptor have to do with it? it just holds the sensor in the water so you can get a reading. I dont see what the problem is there and its obviously delivering ground.

The bottom hose actually stays cooler till the car warms up and thermostat opens up. The upper radiator hose gives you a better reading. I posted up on k20A, i even called Hybrid Racing. This shit sucks my dude, i just want my friggin Temp Reading on the GAUGE.

Spent about a hour looking at your Conversion harness vs EG cluster, wiring etc. looked at pinouts. I dont know either.

what kind of material is the adapter made of? Just put it on the manifold, way cleaner look IMOP.

i dont know what its made of, Some kind of Aluminum im guessing. It does look cleaner up there but i have the RBC manifold and its different then the usual pics you see online. It actually goes on my manifold and i have a bunch of lines that run through there and dont feel like rigging anything up. I guess i can try scraping the threads of the housing where the sensor goes in and on the ground thread also. Its Black not metal, idk.
