ac bracket experiences
alright...i've spent the last two nights trying to install air conditioning on my b16a3 block. and this is what i've learned...and i'd like to get everyone's opinions or experiences...i happen to have the p30(del sol vtec), p54(ls), and p72(gsr) ac brackets and i drive a 1992dx hatchback.
now this is all important...because the fittings on the ac lines utilize d-series ac compressors which are slightly smaller and use longer bolts. now the first time i bolted on the p30 ac bracket and an ac compressor from a gsr. now, this all works well and the only problem i ran into was the fittings on the gsr ac compressor not fitting to the ac lines from my dx. so, i had to try again...this time i used the p54 ac bracket which has a different bolt pattern for the ac compressor, and is similar to the ls ac compressor and d-series ac compressors that i had.
i suspect that the ls has a slightly less capable ac system because the ac compressor that i have was smaller than the del sol vtec and gsr ac compressor. (someone please tell me if this is true or not)
anyway, to make this work and to use the ac lines that came stock on my car i used a p54 ac bracket (from a d16z6) and the d-series ac belt.
was just wondering what everyone else has done so that they have ac on their 5th gen hybrid.

with a p30 you have to use a b-series compressor which means the fittings on the ac lines may or may not fit.(i'm not sure..i don't have enough experience with different models like the si, vx...etc....but i suspect all civics have the same type of ac compressor)
its my feeling that the b-series compressors are bigger because they make the air colder...
is this true?
