improving timing to get hores
someone told me to take the whole distributor ( on a 91 crx dx) and twist all the way backwards as far as it can go, he said it would improve timing and increase horsepower, is this true....

Advnace your timing to 18 and you should be good. Factory specs is 16 plus or minus 2, so 18 is still within factory specs

the D16A1 in my 89 integra will gladly take the distributor advanced all the way... with no audible detonation on 89 octane gas (i ran it that way for a while, but with 93 octane just to be safe, i have since retarded it somewhat)
i couldnt use a timing gun cause i couldnt find the jumper to short to set it to timing mode. the heater blower went and i had it replaced, i think it got buried at that point. anyhow because of this i just "wing it" (but with caution).
