Default What wears in a clutch?

So after trying to buy a clutch from someone on here they ended up bailing out (was a while back).

I got some extra money laying around and I want to get my EM1 back in good condition again. The clutch in the car is weird, if you give it gas and ease out on the clutch (like driving a normal clutched car) it will chirp very loud like im spinning the tires between 75% and up of the engadgement. In order to leave a stoplight in this car without it doing that, I have to lightly give it a little gas, ease out slowly till it just starts moving, then let off the gas, let the clutch all the way out, and give it gas to keep going.

Im want to replace the main seal, throw out bearind and other crap. But what can I reuse? I was told it has a ACT clutch, and its pretty heavy but I like it. Does the pressure plate wear? Can I just buy a new friction disk and throwout bearing? Maybe get the flywheel surfaced?

Pull the clutch out & inspect it. It sounds like you may have a cerametallic clutch disk which is causing the chirp/on off style grab.

Simply buy a different clutch disk & re-surface the flywheel if you don't like the clutch disk.

i agree pull the tranny down take off the clutch.. replace the throw out bearing without a doubt and if the clutch is still in good shape i would suggest upgrading the pressure plate....i can do the work for 450$..
