Default Will any D16 block house any D16 internals?

I have all the internals to rebuild my D16Y8, but it seems that Z6's and A6's are easier and cheaper to come by than Y8's are. That being said, If I purchased a Z6 or A6 block including it's crank, will I be able to use my Y8 rods and pistons without clearance issues?

If so, it would be grand. I would like to use a different engine so I still have a car during the process. (Mic work on block, bearings, and crank)

Yes? No?

Also, are the rods crank specific in any way?

it all will work but u still have to re hone your cylinder chambers and send the rods and crank to the machine shop and of course youll need new rod bearings along with piston rings..

Picked up a Y7 block today for a steal. Hopefully I won't have to get the sleeves re-sleeved or honed, and I already have OEM rods, pistons, and rings. I'm going to start tearing down the block and looking everything over.

How much does it usually cost to get the crank and rods mic-ed and fitted? And the block head resurfaced? For I am very new to this and the only time I've ever dealt with a machinist was for a valve job, and that was nearly 400 for just replacement stem seals. Either that was a rip, and I'm really hoping not to spend nearly that much at all, or the price was right, and I'm really out of the know and I don't know what kind of money dump I'm getting myself into.

Either way, thank you for the reply, and I will keep everyone updated, and I'll certainly post questions as I continue this project.

If anyone wants to throw me some pointers, ideas, suggestions, or machinist recommendations, it's very much appreciated!!
