Default b18c in 00 hatchback

alright, here is what i'm helping this kid do.

he has a jdm b18c from a 94 integra gsr. the car he's putting this engine in is a 2000 civic dx hatchback. now, my question is which driver's side bracket is used with the b18c motor mount.

does he use the dx mount and bracket? we haven't measured yet but it looks like the dx mount will not fit onto the b18c motor mount bolts.

does he need to buy a civic si bracket that will be compatible with the b18c mount?

i've never done this swap but i've read several accounts of this swap and not once has anyone described this problem.

what is the civic si driver bracket? is it the part that mounts with two bolts to the engine head and has to threaded rods stickin out of it for the metal bracket to go on? or is it something else, or do i need that with something that metal bracket? btw, how many bolts go into the head from this mount braket thing?? if two, are they one on top of another or one underneath another?? BTW, i'm the guy that chet is helping with, with the swap. thanks to all.

none of the bolts go into the head, they all go into the block. and yes the bracket is the part that connects the two parts of the mount from the block to the actual liquid filled mount. i was assuming your motor came with the part that bolts to the block...that would definitely help. you also need the rear tranny civic si mounting bracket that bolts to both the block and tranny. and for some reason i think the gsr lower driver mount is slightly different.

cool. the dx did come with that piece that bolts into the bock, however, it's different and won't bolt into the b18c block. the b18c block has two holes for bolts, the d series block only has one. so, i'm assuming that the si braket also has two bolts, since it comes from a B series block. i hope they didn't change that for the last gen si (99.00). still skeptical about ordering it, want to make sure that it will definately fit into the b18c. so, basically the question remains as follows: will a 99, 00 civic si driver side mount braket fit into the b18c block?? thanks, i appreciate your patience and adivece.

the part of the mount that bolts to the block is interchangeable in all b-series blocks(it has two long pointed threads sticking up). the actualy liquid filled mount part is different from a gsr to a civic so you will need the bracket off off a 99-00 civic si to connect that part that bolts from the block to your mount on your civic. hope that helps

thanks. i will have to get that piece. what about the bracket that goes onto that and the mount on the car? can i reuse the dx bracket, it looks the same, not that i have the si one, but from pics and stuff, seems to be identical. you think that even if they're same in shape the si might be stronger??? thanks.

also there is the issue of the knock sensor, crank speed fluctuation sensor etc if you are using a 99-00 ecu, does he have a OBD2-1 conversion harness?
