Default radiator problem

Today I let my car sit with the engine running after I washed it(hot as hell out side by the way) and the music is playing and my friends and i are just talking, then i go to turn my car off, and i see a puddle of green fluid(from the radiator) all on the ground, i was like oh ISH!, and then i look at the temp and its all the way to the top (hot).
I then let the car sit there and open the radiator cap up and check to see that i need more since it lost some, then i checked the water, and there wasn't any at all, i coudn't believe that.

Would anyone know what happened and why did it occur, plus is there a soloution to this and if so, how would i be able to fix it, thanks to anyone that replys!

later
chris

the solution is simple. buy a new radiator. and if you're planning a swap, go with a dual core radiator so you don't end up switching radiators once again.

tenaciousC...it seems strange that your radiator would just blow up like it did. even with turbo and the added stress placed on the radiator (minimal even with increased engine temperatures) it seems like a genuine honda radiator would hold up better than this.

how long have you been running turbo? and how many miles are on the car? i'm just curious because up here in connecticut people rarely have cooling problems and i've never heard of something like this happening.

do you think its fair to blame the turbo setup for this problem...or can you think of something else? i'm interested because i'm going to probably install a turbo on this ls i just swapped into a gsr...and this kid has a shitty aftermarket radiator that is definitely not the quality of genuine oem honda.

That happened to me 2 months ago.... Green fluid was all over my inner hood and over my CAI... I shot some water through the intake hose from the supply to notice if it leaked... it did and there was a crack... I agree with everyone else... get a new radiator... Is it somethin to do with our lovely hot weather crackin it?
