Exclamation Car will not start, Backfires...

So i know the main things to get a car started
- timing
- fuel
- spark
- compression

So if the car trys to start and just backfires isnt that timing?

yes if you just had a valve job or had them reseated, they would need to be readjusted.if they r to tight it will give you a belching sound like backfireing till they are readjusted
