Default Wont start in park

97 Honda accord

When in park and you turn the key absolutely nothing happens. No clicking no attempt to turn over nothing.
But when you put it in neutral it starts up normally.

Im thinking its some sort of switch thats not recognizing that the car is in park or that the break is being pushed down.

Any ideas?

pull your center console and inspect the shift interlock solenoid...also are your brake lights working fine?? Able to press the brake pedal move the shifter from park, do you hear a "clicking" noise when you press brake pedal(should feel it around the shift interlock solenoid)

Brakes are working fine. It presses down normally and shift through the gears normally. No clicking noise when pressing down.
