Default Throw-out bearing?

If there is a horrible noise (shreiking) eminating from my car every time i push the clutch in (and only then), then it's gotta be that? Right?
Thanks in advance.

Does the sound stop after your drive around for a while, like after several engagments? Cause mine does this to? Would it make sense to replace it now or wait until I drop in the new motor while everything is out?

no it's there every time the pedal goes down, a while ago it would rattle when ildeing in neutral with the clutch up, rattle would go away when i got back in and put it in gear. Joker, do these things have a pilot bushing or bearing? What is the worst case senario if i don't do this yet and keep drivin it around?

sounds like your clutch is not engaging/disengaging right.
time to change that t.o bearing
also look at your clutch plate/disc while its apart. they may need replacing

yeah that's the bitch, just put it together a few months ago clutch looked brand new then no dust in hte case and it was the same thickness as the one at the parts counter. so i didn't even think of lookin at the t/o bearing, figured that the clutch was new so was the bearing. lesson learned, if you buy a car w/a broken timing belt, don't take anything for granted.

Pilot bearing = bearing.

Worst case scenario is it'll groove the hell out of the pressure plate "fingers" until the point where they break off and thereby cause some nasty problems.

Time to drop the transmission.

see the pilot bearing is a constantly spinning bearing, well atleast while the car is running because it is located at the center of the flywheel. drop the tranny and then break out the 12 point sockets, break loose the clutch cover with the 10mm 12 point. the slide the clutch out and grab the 17mm 12 point and break that flywheels loose. the pilot bearing is in the center of the flywheel. i actuly have one around here some where, not getting up right now, but its an easy thing to fix. just time consuming. take your time and torque everything to spec and make sure there is plenty of lube where it is supposed to be. enjoy.
