ok soo i go to start my car its starts up fine then shuts off and the cel comes on. tried to get the code but will not give me one...after letting the car sit for a few hours cel goes away and car may start or do the same thing again..any ideas? i have a 92 civic hatch with a 92 b18a1

 

Do you have gas? lol... Check if your fuel pump is working

 

yeah i got gas and its kicking on.. only doesnt start every know and then

 

main relay? when it does not start check to see if the main relay clicks?

 

^ if the main relay was bad it wouldn't start period.

1. check your timing
2. check dizzy cap/rotor
3. check fuel pressure

 

ive had a main relay that started fine in the mornings then after a bit of driving around go to start the car again have to tap on it for the car to start... they get hair line solder fractures in the relay.... after resoldering it never had an issue again..... im assuming when it gets warm it fuks the connection in the relay up.....

a bad main relay won't leave the check engine light on

considering this is a swapped car, you might want to check the ground wire at the thermostat...commonly left loose
this is the ground for the pcm and main relay...seen this a few times
