okay so let me explain yesterday me and my friends went to the track and i pulled a couple of runs nothing happened car ran perfect no problems then when we left on the way home we had a lil run and my car redlines 8500 so when i shift on 8500 exact it does a lil backfire when i shift but then after i got onto 4th gear and slowed down the my exhaust stayed aflame, so i slowed down to a idle and still had a 2 in flame coming out so we pulled over and i turned off the car and then when i turned it back on the flame came back as soon as i hit the gas so i drove it home but today its not doing it my worries aint the flame its that ive got my whole nitrous kit on the car that i spray at the track (when i got money for a refill) and my question is will the flames go from bad to worse?? and could this blow the motor up??

but its been running perfect ever since tuned on may till now it then it just caught on fire!

 

check yo lines connections and stuff i think to solenoid is leaking it can blow your motor intake and everything to shit

 

well i wasent spraying it but ive recently bought all nitrous lines and fuel line this month, the only thing i can think maybe is that because my exhaust sometimes scartches the road and it could possible spark any unburnet gas coming out , but thx all will try to double check all things then spray it to see what will happened , worse case scenario i blow my shit up :'(

 

Unburnt Gasoline + Really Hot Exhuast = Flame.
Unburnt Gasoline + Sparks = Flame.
Unburnt Gasoline + Funky Valve/Ignition Timing = Flame.

If it stays on fire though, it seems something is being weird.
Are you turbo/have Anti-Lag?

but seriously flames are fine. of course it's going to backfire when you let off from 8500, your dumping so much damn fuel in there. plus if it's tuned then it's probably running a little on the rich side, and if you don't have a cat your o2 sensor doesn't have enough back pressure to get a good reading. if you can run a wideband o2 and see exactly what it's doing.

there are other ways of "sensing" what the engine is doing but i can't post them. that's how shops make money lol.
