B-16a head swap
Trying everywhere I can to find any information about putting a B-16a DOHC head on a bigger block, like a CRV or Prelude block. Can anyone help? Got all the info I need. Thanks for all the replies.
you cant find information on that because its impossible to put a b series dohc head onto a h series block or a sohc d series block. the only blocks that a b16 head will swap onto are the integra gsr, ls, or the honda crv
hope that helped

well if you just got the b16 head cause its a vtec head and wanna put it on a prelude...go sell the head...preludes are already have vtec (97-up and the 92-96 vtec model) what are you seriously trying to do here? make a 454 vtec?
forgot to mention...he could drop it on a older prelude from 88-91 those had b20's (Si was b20...AWS model was sohc 2.1 litre i think) not sure if the head would bolt up or if u have to do some custom work...but they are both B series...and id honestly like to see how that set-up ran in the preludes...those years werent too heavy so it might have some get up to it.

the old b20a5 found in preludes was one of the worst motors ever built my honda. its stroke was very long and although its physically possible to bolt a b-series vtec head onto this longblock its not worth doing.
if you're looking to get more displacement ls/vtec is probably the easiest and most reliable way for you. crvtec's are very expensive and if you have the money...and someone to build it who knows what they're doing...then consider that also. also, you could find a gsr block and use that...but chances are it will be more expensive or damaged because people don't usually swap gsr blocks in favor of crv blocks.
