Default CRX troubles

alright my friend is having a problem with his crx (88 si) it seems there is alot of pressure being built up in the coolant system and alot of hoses are breaking...if anyone could shed some light on this it would be helpful...also we just replaced the thermostat almost 2 months ago and now it begins to be at a normal temp then all of the sudden shoot up then come right back down like its sticking bad but when we took it out to look at it today it opened fine...and he also has alot of hesitation, when u get on the gas it like bogs down like its about to stall and then it revs up like a bat outta hell...anyway to stop that? any help is appreciated, thanks in advance

did you replace the thermostat with a new OEM honda one?

or is it some generic piece of shit you bought at auto-zone?

also...are you implying that the temperature problem is related to the rev problem...or are these problems just coincidental?

if i were you i'd check all of the grounds first...and is this car stock? or does it have swap? try to be a little more specific...

It is my CRX.... I have the si motor in it and all I have is intake, and headers... I said fuck it and just flushed the cooling system and yanked the thermostat out... I fixed all the weak hoses and went my mary way...
Its not over heating and it stays at a constant temp and dosent move..

Heating problem solved... Thats one out of 30.....

The hesitation prob. seems to have gone away.. but it was like when I hit the gas and had the RPMs up then let off the gas then hit it.. It would bog down.. Like I said it seems to be gone on its own . I dont know.. If you know of this prob... Talk to me.

Thank you for looking or responding to this post

problems usually don't just go away because cars can't fix themselves. however, with the bogging problem i'd first start with the simplest and cheapest solutions. have you checked your spark plugs or pulled them recently? and what about the gas, maybe you have some water in it?

It could have been a little moisture in the gas because when it started over heating I was way low on gas and had to pass up all gas stations. I made it home started pulling it apart and didnt drive it for a couple of days. Fixed the over heating problem. Went to the gas station and filled up with 93 octane. No more boging down.

Thank you all.......
