ok heres what i know so far.

i got outta my car to take a delivery to someones door, so i shut my car off. i then tried to get back in and start it. to find that, it wouldnt start, so i pop the trunk and go look at my battery cables and shit. i go back there and see NO SPARKS, but i can hear some sort of arching sound. like wires sparking and shit. i fiddle with the terminals and it stops. well the car still wont start. i chk all fuses under the hood, all fine. i thought it was my fusable link cuz all my shit died. then when my boss comes the dome light pops on outta no where. we try to jump it for fun. well with his car hooked to mine, the fucker ran perfect. as soon as i take the cables off, it dies.
so i assume its my alt?? or battery
i have a new battery chillen in the cut so im gunna hook that up and see what happens.
any thoughts?

also when i have the key in the ignition, and the lights on. if i try to start my car it makes some arching noises and all my shit then shuts off. that made me think the battery wasnt puttin out enogh power. with the cables hooked up the car makes no weird noises, and starts fine.
is my alternator strong enough to keep the car running, if my battery is completely fucked?? cuz after i got jumped, my car would just die as soon as the cables came off.

just wanted to get as much ammo as possible before i go try to fix the fucker.

this is what im gunna do.
1. change battery
2. chk alt
3. chk grounds
i dont think theres much more i can do.

 

what do you mean by "arching"....i dont think its your batt because if it started with his car on it then it just stopped when he took the cables off theres more to it because it should still run...to my knowledge you can run a car without a batt once its started, just dont turn on accessories or anything...your batt could be dead but i dont think that would explain it shutting off with the cables off
