Question Rack and pinion in a DA

i got to put a rack in my 92 DA. Anyone done one on here?? Is it hard? anything to look out for? I'll be using a lift and have a shop full of tools.. 228,000 miles on the factory rack is good i think..

not very hard, easier if you have said lift and garage full of tools, get your alignment your alignment done afterwards...check all suspension components while you are under there...especially rear trailing arm ones...good luck!

I just swapped the car to 5 speed. I wanted to pull the motor and replace the p/s hoses, clean up the bay while I did the conversion.. But the shop i was gonna do it at, the guy was never there when i had free time, so i did it at another shop on jack stands.. If it's not one thing, it's something else

The only problem I had was that I couldn't get the damned pinion shaft out past the crossmember bracing. Eventually I gave up and pulled the whole damn rack with member, and put the new rack into it on the floor, the put the whole thing back up in there..what a heavy sumbitch.
