hey - i was wondering exactly what the differences are between these two cars engine wise, if there is a difference. they both have the same engine codes, (B18B1), im pretty sure. i know that the RS is lighter because it comes less equipped. but is that it?? My friend thinks that the LS motor must be better because you dont ever hear anyone doing a RSvtec, all you hear is LSvtec. is he right? thanks - Brad

 

same blocks. so many ppl prob have rs blocks and dont know it. ppl just use ls as the common name

 

2nd gen (90-93) Integra LS, GS, and RS all had the b18a motor.....3rd gen (94-up) RS, LS, and GS all came with the b18b motor. The engine is the same no matter what model. The b18a made less power than the b18b though.

As for weight, the RS weighs only about 100lbs less than an LS.

 

The RS is the better of the 2 in the 94 an up years.For one they are lighter and they look cleaner when done right cause the have no sun roof,rear windshield wiper,and most of the time no wing.

The 90-91 B18A made less power (130) 92-93 B18A made more (140) correct me if I'm wrong but the B18B makes (140) as well................

 

b18b makes 142hp/125tq (94 up)

the extra power in the 92-93 is due to more aggressive ecu mapping and little more profile cams. im 99% sure thats right
i think they made 130 and 140hp the 94' up's make 142
