Default Can unproperly seated springs cause this? (pics included)

So i had my car lowered 2 inches front and rear

before pic:

after pic:

i noticed the front was almost the same stock height while the rear was dropped 2 inches.

the mechanic who installed them said springs break in so to give it a week.

So after 1 week of hitting bumps to "break them in" (according to my mechanic), i decided to take a peek at why the front was still at stock height..

so i see this...

front driver side: as you can see, it is not seated properly at all. right?

front passenger side: not seated here either.. assuming its supposed to be seated there..?

my neighbor who is a mechanics said its not seated at all and to take it back and have them redo the springs.

i guess my questions are

1) from the pics of above, will that cause my car to not drop the 2 inches its supposed to drop?

2) could the springs being upside down cause this issue?

3) do both the top and bottom of the shock need to be seated correctly?
or is it ONLY the BOTTOM that has a place to seat the spring?

Thanks in advance guys. this has been bugging me for a week. all helpful input is greatly appreciated.

Looks messed up. Those are obviously not the correct springs. They shouldn't need to have hose zip-tied around the bases.

Who did the work?

that definately doesnt look like a 2" drop but maybe its because of the stock tires?

Hmmm.. Does look a tad lower... but not 2 inches. hmmm.. twist the springs with you hand to seat them where they are supposed to be..

but are they real company lowering springs?? like skunk2 or tein or what not??

I put skunk 2s on mine and im almost eating the tire.. look.. on stock civic Si wheels with 195-50-15 tires

sorry but can you guys be more clear on why you believe they are not civic springs? when bought they were clearly for a 96-00 civic...

do they look like they are too big or small for the shock?
