sounds like a bad temp sensor...

there are three temp sensors located on b-series blocks...start replacing them as they're like 30 dollars a piece. if i were you i'd replace the temp sensor that sends information directly to the guage. this sensor is located underneath the distributor and isn't hard to access.

something else to consider...rarely do temp sensors go bad. i was at crown honda a few months ago trying to figure out some temperature problems and i talked with one of their technicians. he said the temp sensors are one of the easiest things to fix but they're not often the problem. in my case, my thermostat was not opening fully and at the proper time.

as far as your car it may also be the guage cluster. if you have a friend with an integra guage cluster plug his in and see if thats the problem. unfortunately you'll probably end up spending some money on this before its fixed unless you get lucky. thats why i'd do the cheapest and easiest things first.

no, as far as i know you won't get a code. right now i assume your car isn't throwing any codes, correct?

my temp gauge didnt die but it started going nuts and moving up and down from an untightened ground underneath the hood. probably not the problem in your case but it couldnt hurt to check.
