I have an older Acura and it is like that car wants to start whenever it feels like it,like for ex, it will start and I will go to the start and tha car will start but when I go to back up it will die and wont start right back up and sometimes it won't start at all if it sits for a while what is wrong with it?And now it is starting t whistle when you start it.

 

ok.......... slow down..... so the car will start but when you put it in reverse, it stalls, and then wont start again right????!?!?! Where is the whistle coming from when you do start it? The engine bay? A few more details would help out alot. What year and model is the car?

 

It is an 88 integra, my dad got a main relay switch but he says he can't find it anywhere in the car,and I can't go near it when he is around .

 

 

I don't know about the car I just recently got it and it doesn't do it all of the time but it pisses me off,and when I am sitting at a stop light it shakes really bad and goes to stall I have to put it nuetral when I stop at lights or stop signs

 

Sounds like it needs a good thorough tune up.

Ummm, in a tune up they should change the fuel filter.....at least they do when you take it to an Acura dealer. For my 60k mile tune up I know they do.

well if this is "mary mary quite contrary how does she make eddie grow?" you drive that fucking car ragged lol and ur tranny is about to go like mine (hint hint buy a 5spd next time) i dont think she knows the meaning of "tune up" and check ur throttle cable just incase...cause i saw eddie playing with it that one night so it would idle at 4500 or so neways come down here where people who know ish bout cars can help you...and buy urself a HELM's manual while ur at it the relay should be up under the dash by the hood latch
