so this might be a dumb question But i was wondering is there any way you have to run aftermarket pistons & rods...


Like Could i Run after market pistons On Oem Rods & vice versa?

 

umm that is a good ? well the machine to stock specs MOST OF THE TIME so i would say so as long as u match wrist pin style to style

Ie: lock ring to lock ring, or press in to press in

 

dont be cheap. if your gonna do one, might as well do the other

 

Well its not that im being cheap i dont mind buying rods...but I plan on doing a mild Comp build on spray...But i have Brand new Shotpeened rods already & was goin to run them on aftermarket pistons.

I see ls Boost setups Running like 300Whp On stock rods with just arp rod bolts so was thinking stock rods should be good with arp hardware..

 

Boost and all motor are 2 totaly different things on a rod (from what I hear). Most would not recomend over 200-250 all motor on stock rods for a b series. From what I have read....

 

If useing boost or n20 its always best to have forged pistons do to stock cast pistons don't like heat and pressure..so useing stock rods with forged pistons is fine the rods will handle a nice shot of n20 and low/mid boost...but you "can't"use forged rods with stock pistons unless they get machined with c-clips to hold the pins in.and no one does this except vitra but only for there 75mm pistons..

 

You can Use IB rods with stock pistons.......


James stock rods and forged pistons is fine....depending how big of a nitrous shot,you might be able to stick with the stock cast pistons.

 

^scat was the only company I know that used to make ibeam rods with no bushings but they stopped..what other companie makes them?

Ls/v setup plan on being somewhere inbetween 11:1 - 12:1 on a 100 shot?
