Any ideas loss of power question.

got a eg coupe with a gsr swap in it when i drive it now compared to when i first got the swap done vtec doesnt feel like it engages fully to give it that extra kick which i know either vtec goes on or doesnt go on there is no half way. so i checked vtec solenoid, ecu, compression all seems to be good just the vehicle feels like has a loss of power. so anybody got any ideas on what the issue might be? any help would be appreciated cause the car isnt as fun as it used to be. lol thanks
