Default OEM or ES bushings?

I want/need to replace bushings. I hear a lot of mixed reviews about energy suspension. I hear the car feels firm and handles great, then I hear they deform in a year and need to be replaced, they squeak over time, and they dont allow the correct movement of the rear railing arm. Anyone here have some real world experience with them?

i've had my ES bushings on my 91 hatch for over 3 years now and he has seen a lot of autox event time with no problems to speak of.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

They feel a bit firmer than OE ones but when it comes to handling they are quite a bit better. They are a bitch to install though especially the trailing arm ones. I'd assume OE ones would be just as hard to install though. Get ES and don't look back.

Well looks like tomorrow I'm going on a shopping spree... complete energy suspension black bushing kit, aluminum radiator, 2.5" mandrel bent B piping, various spray paints, caliper paint, steel braided brake lines, brake line kit, SI 40/40 prop valve, ITR BB/MC, and a battery relocate kit. Looking at around $900 lol It all sounded so good until I just added it all up. Damn I spend so much on cars and I dont have a good job thats like 2 months pay checks right there. I'll be walking places and eating ramen noodles for the next few months again haha
