Default CV joints....need help/location

Okay, it seems the CV joints in the ol' civic is starting to show its age. Every time I start the car and begin to leave, the front driver's side wheel begins to give some "tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick" sounds, then stops, after leaving first it does the same as I switch to second. I need to know if I can fix this problem, whatever it may be, easily. Or should I take it to a mechanic and let them solve my problem , hopefully this won't be as expensive as to what I am thinking needs to be done. Any help is appreciated as usual
