Default 3rd gen lude question

how hard would a 88-91 lude b20/vtec be? would it be the same as the crv/vtec? or would i need a whole new engine and like are all the crv parts and/or b series performance parts interchangable with the lude b20?

Tom at ludespeed said its a bitch to do. if you have money though its different. he talking like $2000 for the b16 and a lot more the the gsr whose intake manifold wont fit in the engine compartment. the b16 hybrid has been done before. Tom at ludespeed over in the orlando area used to make kits but not any more cause its difficult for others to install He will tell you how to do it though. all the bugs have yet to be worked out though. its the b16 head. you have to just mahcine the oil lines. its been done before. and it made a lot of fucking power for a 2litre. now on the b21 it has more displacement and power. when he did the b20 vtec hyrbid . just have to do a few internal mods for less the $1000. a very noticable difference. but the gearing in the b20A5 is longer than the b21a1. the b21 in 5th gear goes a little over 130 before hitting the 7100 rpm rev limiter. the best way to do it is use the 3g 89 chasis. friend had the weighted down to 2300 with 2 passengers just by taking things out. it wont swap into any other car besides the 3g lude unless you want to spend a lot of money.

something from his site.
The next picture shows how far off the oil passages are between the head and the Prelude block. That is a B16A2 head gasket sitting on the B21A1 block
