I was driving my 97 accord today (automatic 4 speed) and when i came to a complete stop and took a left the car exceeded up to 6k rpms but wouldn't shift into 2nd gear. The car would then not reverse or go forward in any gear although the motor did rev up and sounded fine. Then it decided to start moving in reverse and first gear but wouldn't shift into second. I could smell burning oil or transmission fluid so I decided to check the fluids. The transmission fluid was full however it did seem thin so I'll start with changing the fluid. The car makes a loud spooling sound when I push on the gas that sounds like its coming from between the motor and the firewall. If anyone has any theories or ideas I'd appreciate the help (Torque Converter, Transmission Pump, Fuel Injectors ect....) Thanks

Edit: Also this morning as soon as I got in my car it was idling at 1800 rpms when its usually 550-700ish. It was cold and I wondered if the cold was effecting it. Wondering if this has to do with any other possibilities.
