LS tranny in turbo b16?

should this help alot due to its longer gears? are there any cons to doing this? i heard going from 2nd to 3rd with the stock rev limiter and normal vtec engagemtent(5600-5700) u drop outta vtec. thats the only thing ive heard bad about the tranny swap. please give me your opinion. thanks

I have a 90 Civic with a 2000 B16A2. I used a 93 GSR Tranny. I love the gear ratio of this tranny. The only thing is I dont have a turbo.

Yeah I got one dave.....never had any probs with vtec that has no association with the tranny whomever had that problem is the 1 out of a million I guess.....its a vast improvement I stay in boost hella long time. There is a huge difference in third(where I would shift into fourth with the si tranny I am still in third for another 3-4000 rpm)....times are better by .5 and I never get out of fourth before the line.......

LS tranny is good for nothing cept turbo or if you want longgggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg gggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg gggggggg and i do mean longggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg gears it will be nice.

Hey 99B16Si..i was wondering if u ever got that tranny fixed and if so would u still be interested in swapping it for an ls tranny..i have one with about 47,000 miles on it perfect no grinds at all..i'm trying 2 go all motor so ur tranny would be ideal 4 me...let me know...

my tranny is in perfect condition other than the 4th gear. the sychro is kinda messed up. it still goes into gear and all but u gotta shift it just right in order for it not to grind. i have an LS tranny sitting in my garage that i havent had a chance to put in yet. i dont know what to expect with it, it may grind a gear too.
