motor swap ? crank poss sensor
well i have a 96 civic with a locked up motor in it and then i have a 95 z6 motor runs great . i pulled the motor out thinking that i could just swap everything from the 96 on to the 95 engine and thing would be great . and nope the 96 has external cps and the 95 is in the dis . can i put the external cps from the 96 motor onto the 95? this is really gonna suck if i haft to buy a new 96 or newer engine just for the cps
Its not an external ckp.. its the csp, crank speed fluctuation sensor. The ckp is still in the distributor, but yes you will need to mount it. You can try swapping the oil pumps for the mount.

done i swapped the oil pumps and if fit now the dis mounting holes are out of alignment and im afraid i will haft to swap the heads too just for the dis can this be done y8 head on a z6 block? i think its been done with ease but i need some conformation
You will want to swap to the y8 head if you plan to keep the car obd2. Or at the very least swap the cam gears. The distributor will bolt on with one mount, but if you want it to fit right you will need to swap the obd2 sensors into the z6 housing.

Cant you just t off the wire by the ecu for the cam sensor to the crank sensor and eliminate that sensor on your block. They should be getting the same reading going into your ecu. I remember having to do this to a OBD2 car that I put and OBD1 motor in a long time ago. Hope this helps.
