Default coolant temp sensor needed?

crazy question prob but im making the guys harness for a obd0 ls and if i remove the coolant temp sensor (2 wire) n wiring will that affect the running of the car? ecu going crazy? i already deleted the fan switch (2 wired sensor on the t stat housing) and controlling the fan via a switch on the dash.

any info on the affects of removing the coolant temp sensor in regards on the ecu thinking the motor is cold/ or pulling timing....

the ecu needs to read the coolant temp. why would you want to delete the two and go with a toggle switch?

i didnt, the guy im building the harness for did, im gonna leave the clt sensor hooked up n delete the fan switch.

hes deleting the fan switch n going toggle bc that tricks called a .1 switch for a quarter mile run. turn the fan off save a tenth of a second on your quarter mile times compared if you had the fan on creating the alt to be on and creating a draw/ resistance on the motor

drawing power from the motor does effect your spark but if your drag racing then your probably running an MSD or something similar where it's sending so much power to the plugs that it doesn't matter if the fan is on or not.

what the hell dose a msd have anything to do with compensating for draw created by the alternator? if your sitting still w your car idling and your fans turn on or ya turn your headlights on your cars idle drops. idk its a pretty simple concept.

laugh all ya want, id call it more or less common sense

ok, well back on topic, laugh n think what ya want but its a valid point to keep your fan off during a pass to have less resistance thru your alternator thus reducing drag on your motor.
