ok im building my buddies ls..we have gsr rods and pistons..ive heard of it done before but i think something might be wrong..i put the pistons in today and when i tightened the rod caps down..they have room that they can slide back n forth on the crank..i cant remeber it doing that on any of my other motors ive built..and also i can turn them a lil bit..like looking at it from the bottom i can turn the rod right and left a lil on the crank..is this normal or is something not fitting right? any help would be nice..thanks tr

oo ok yeh its ls crank...so thats why there is play on it? ive never built somthing with diff parts..allways juss build all one year..lol..but i could juss get ls rods and still use the gsr pistons on it right? but thanks for ya help

i would stop building it and find someone else to do it for your buddy

any time you use a shorter rod (ls) you need the crank that matches (ls longer stroke) and vise versa
ls= shorter rod but longer stroke
gsr= longer rod and shorter stroke

plus the width of the rods is diff. I would stick with ls crank it will yeild more tq

Use CTR pistons on LS rods with the LS crank and have rang build it for your buddy

no thanks i have 7 freaking longblocks sitting in my apartment right now waiting,to get built 4people that im not even touching till after feb.14 Lol i will be more then happy to help him with info thats no problem but TErry summed it up..if you try anf use gsrs on a ls crank minus the piston sticking out the cyl about 1mm the motor will knock like crazy on start do to the rod having so much room to slide....
