The oil pump will be fine. The manifold will need to be put on the a6 head from your car, and still going to take a little bit of work, but like I said the obd2 ecu controls the ignition timing COMPLETELY differently than it does on obd0-1. Youd have an easier time with it if you got an obd1 jumper harness and swapped in a p06 ecu, then you wont deal with all the obd2 emission bullshit that will go ape-shit once you get it in.

It is far easier to do the swap the other way around. When I put my y8 into my 91 youd have laughed your ass off watching me unbolt things off the engine and go "welp..dont need that *chuck*".

 

Not changint oilpumps tho will leave the check engine light on from the cranksensor...if it was me its cheaper to rebuild your y7 the right way then change out everything..the y7 is a great motor

 

Or just buy another Y7... cant be that expensive..

 

thanks for the great input rangcrx and FrodoGT I see you guys have some exp. I think im gonna forget about the a6. Ive been searching far and wide on craigslist and all these assholes are asking too much for y7s so i think im gonna try to change the valve cover gaskets and see where that puts me. The last thing i wanna do is pull the head to find out the head gasket, piston rings, and valve seals are fine.

 

just take your time and when putting the nuts back on DONT over tighten you will snap them off.... i would go with autozone gasket set its on 16$ and comes with everything you need
