Default help

just brought a civic . smoke keeps coming out the muffler a lot and strong smell . i jump started it once and rev the engine then the rpm's starting going up and down like it was giving itself gas.

yes i'm staring to get into cars and trying to learn. so no smart ass comments!

What color is the smoke?

Rev issue is an ignition timing and idle issue. Get the car timed correctly and reset the idle the correct way.

check your iacv and clean it out should fix idle which is the sound that sounds like its giving it self gas

bluish means oil. maybe a headgasket issue

How many miles on motor?

You can check both of those items with a leakdown test. Just about any shop can perform this and they shouldn't charge more than like 20-30 bucks for it.
