about a month ago i hit a big puddle of water and sucked up alot of it in my cold air. it bogged out and died on me after a couple minutes it started back up and all you could see was steam coming out the tailpipe ? it took another 20 mintes of running it till it ran normal. is there anything i have to be woried about now ???
any comments or suggestions would be helpfull

Well if it feels all right now then dont worry about anything. You should have changed your oil and spark plugs after it happened though.

common misconception with cai. you have to suck up a metric amount of water for you to hydrolock your engine hope that helps

There really wouldnt be any long term effects. It is the short term effects like hydrolocking the motor that you need to worry about. If you havent noticed your car running any slower than you dont have anything to worry about now or later.

I beg to differ.
If you managed to suck up enough water so that it actually reached the combustion chamber youve put a hell of a lot of stress on the motor and definately decreased its lifespan to a point. Might want to keep your eye on compression. Ive seen two cases first hand now where the head gasket fails prematurely after a little run-in with water.
