Default A few problems I need help with...

Hey, guys. (Experts; listen up!) I need your help.

I have a 94 Civic DX Sedan with a swapped D16Z6. Still has the original tranny and everything. I've only had this car for a couple of months, and I've done nothing to the motor. I've only tried to make it look pretty with red trimming, and projector headlights and that kind of shit. All of these problems were there when I acquired the car.

I've taken pictures of all the issues I'd like to address, because I am well-aware of the fact that a picture is worth a thousand words.

Problem #1: "OMG No VTAK???"
-If I'm not Mistaken, THIS is the VTEC Solenoid, no? Isn't there a wire that's supposed to be connected to it?

-I've noticed this loose cable. Could this be the culprit? It seems much too short to be bridged to the VTEC solenoid.

What do I do??

-----------------

Problem #2: "OMG No SPEEDO?!"
Yeah, uhh... When I got the car, the guy told me that the speedometer wasn't working. I've had this problem before, but it was because of a faulty Vehicle Speed Sensor. And a VSS could easily be obtained. In THIS case, however... It is the Cable that is falty. As you can see, here is the VSS, with no cable plugged in:

And HERE are the loose/damaged wires that are supposed to connect to the VSS.

I've gone to a couple of junk yards looking for Civics, but every time I go, I have bad luck, 'cause the motors are already gone (It's probably for good reason, 'cause I was never planning on paying for the little cable anyway. I was planning on performing a "toolbox discount"). Anywho... I've also tried Advanced Discount Autoparts and Autozone. They sell the VSS, but not the cable. Where can I acquire the cable?

-----------------

Problem #3: "OMG no A/C!!"
Yes, I do have A/C. It used to be amazing, but over time it was getting progressively worse and worse. I used to have a leak under the glove compartment, but I fixed that. It seemed that my A/C got worse after I fixed the leak. I popped my hood once to address another issue with the Cold Air Intake, and I saw this:

Looks fine, right??
...
WRONG!

The Cone filter is eating away at the AC pipes! I've tried messing around with the rubber mount, but no matter what I do, it drops down eventually. The mount is doing a great job of mounting the Intake tube to the manifold, but it isn't supporting the cone filter at all. The weight of the filter is supported by the Insulated A/C Pipe, which isn't going to be insulated for much longer. What do I do?

Get the plug for the vtec solenoid and wire it to your ecu. I bet you dont even have a P28 ecu. Whoever threw that z6 in there did it half ass. Redo VSS wiring. As for A/C it could be lots of shit. Get it diagnosed by someone who knows what they are doing.

I think the Filter resting on the pipe is a pretty good explanation for the A/C. In any case, I'm financially limited, so I'd rather not spend too much money worrying about this stuff. I need cheap fixes, innovative ideas. That sort of stuff. Especially since we're heading into the Fall/inter season, It'd be pointless to pour money into my A/C, when I can wait until Spring/Summer.

Ok if you want your vtec to work you can always buy the plug at a junkyard and wire it to a switch. You will also need to buy wire and a switch. Grand total of 5-10 dollars right there. Thats if you dont have a p28 ECU. You should check first.

Fixes that issue

So are you sure the freon is leaking from there? Have you tested it with the uv liquid and light? Ive had an short ram intake resting on my AC piping for years with no issue. Most likely your condenser or compressor. Then again im not there, nor can I check through the internet.

VSS wire it up, see if it works... if not get a new vss.

Not hard brotha, all of these things you will have to do on your car. Not on the internet.
Just cuz you wish for things to be fixed, they are not going to fix themselves.

Okay, tomorrow I will try to determine what type of ECU I have. In the meantime... I don't go to the junkyard often, and when I do... It's for big things. I wouldn't even know if they'd carry individual wires and plugs. I've been to an LKQ a couple of times, looking for this stuff, but I couldn't find any of it. Motors were pulled out. The problem is that I don't know how to obtain these kinds of parts. I'm perfectly willing to learn and do the work myself, I just need information on obtaining the parts I need. I'm not lazy, I'm just ignorant.

As for the A/C... I honestly don't know anything about it. Excuse me if my logic sounds ridiculous, but I figured the Cone filter ate away at the insulation of the A/C pipe, so it must be hot. Heat positioned right up against a pipe that's supposed to be filled with low-temp coolant would heat up the coolant, and would therefore defeat the integrity of my Air Condition system. My A/C works just fine, it just isn't as cool as it should be. And when it is... The cold air doesn't go too far before it's greeted by warmer air. Once again, forgive me if my logic doesn't sound correct. This is all a learning process for me.

Youll need to get the plug at a junkyard or post a WTB here in the for sale forum. The wire and switch you can pick up at any auto parts store.

Okay, so... Technically I'll need three plugs...
1. Speedometer Plug
2. VTEC Solenoid Plug
3. VTEC Pressure Switch

The Speedometer is an easy fix. But, I'm still having trouble understanding how I'm supposed to wire the VTEC Solenoid to a switch. Will that mean that I will have to turn it on every time I start my car?
