noone has any idea how to do timing..i think i did it right but i havent started the car yet..i would like to make sure

onebadcoupe 10-01-2009 11:19 AM

lol yes make sure. you dont want bent valves. as long as all the timing marks are alinged properly you're good.

AUDIcabrio09 10-04-2009 02:12 PM

thats a pretty helpful link..but again..i dont have a timing belt cover and i also dont have the belt on the cam gears...so lmk if you have a link for that ..thanks

custom240sx 10-04-2009 02:23 PM

You have to have the timing belt cover that goes behind the crank in order to do ignition timing...you can manual set the timing by putting a long screwdriver into cylinder 1 and rotating it until the timing hash on the crank lines up to the mark on the block and the piston and cylinder 1 is at TDC (top dead center). Cam gears must have the word up pointing up and the hash marks lined up with eachother in the center.

AUDIcabrio09 10-05-2009 06:51 AM

ok im almost 100% its on time...I stuck a screwdriver into the #1 cly. and brought her up to TDC. Then i lined up the cam gears.(arrows pointing up w/the little tick marks pointing together) Still she wont start..I moved the dizzy side to side and all...So again, its a stock ls with dsm450s, walbro 255, and a chipped ecu running a basemap from JohnVega...I removed the 450s and put my stock ones in and tryed the stock ECU but still the samething...I have spark and i have fuel at the rail...

Could my jector plugs be mixed up causeing the cylenders to get fuel at the wrong time...or maybe there is a wring problem somewhere not letting my injectors open???
idk TR im stumped!!!

Nandosol 10-05-2009 07:22 AM

make sure your wires are in the correct order, spark plugs are good. Any CELs?
Does it turn over?

AUDIcabrio09 10-05-2009 07:27 AM

yes it turns over and i just got it to start but it shuts right off..

Santos 10-05-2009 09:10 AM

could be a fuel issue....check everything over again and again, could be smacking you right in the face and you dont see it (happens to me often lol)

System ground on thermostat? No ground on block?

AUDIcabrio09 10-05-2009 12:09 PM

i have the thermostat grounded, head grounded, and the tranny grounded...

AUDIcabrio09 10-05-2009 12:09 PM

im stumped..once again..i have no idea..

solt8kr 10-05-2009 12:45 PM

if its an ef check the resistor box. are you running saturated or peak/hold injectors?

AUDIcabrio09 10-05-2009 02:15 PM

idk lol..they need a resistor box though...they are stock integra injectors

solt8kr 10-05-2009 02:28 PM

if they are obd0 they are peak/hold therefore they need a resistor box. if they are obd1 they are saturated and need no resistor box. dsm injectors also require a resistor box. the resistor box changes the ohms going to the injectors, which means it can cause your car to start and shut off if not matched with proper injectors.

AUDIcabrio09 10-05-2009 08:33 PM

well i am running them on a resistor box and no start..i have a tuner coming sunday to diagnose whats wrong and give me a tune also..
