Unhappy Fuel Switch Car was Bumped

I am new here but I am hoping I can get a little help.

Today I was moving my 97 honda civic hx to mow the yard and bumped into a friends car. I shut off the car and now it wont start back up.

My car was very low on gas at the time but I put gas into it. I'm wondering if there is a kill switch for the fuel pump when your car is bumped. Or any ideas of what the problem might be.

*Battery powers everything on.
*No clicking noise
*Car will not turn over at all
*Car was working fine a minute before I bumped it.
*I put gas in it
*I tried jumping it off.. but the battery seemed fine anyhow

Thanks for any help.

Look at the top of your clutch pedal, there's a switch with a button. Push it and start the car. Then order a new rubber plug from honda to replace the one that broke apart and is on your floor.

Your welcome.

It's happened to me once, but when your in the honda/acura tech section almost everyday you start to see the same thing over and over again.

Regular symptoms of that boot falling out too. Getting power to everything, no turning over, and no clicking when you turn the key.

I guess if I'm wrong I'll look like an ass, but that's a chance I'm willing to take.

Thank you for the reply. I just checked my floor and there is some black rubber that looks like a plug. However I couldn't find any switch or button. I'll look again tommorow in the daylight.

Haha that's happened to me too, unfortunately it was at 9pm so I couldn't buy a new plug and ended up gluing a penny to the pedal.

I pushed the button at the top of the clutch, still wont crank. I'm not sure that was the probelm. It wouldn't crank after I bumped into my friends car.

The fuel pump seems to be working, I hear the humming for 2 seconds when I start the car.

Think it could be the main relay switch or starter?

you have to hold the button while you turn the key, if that still doesn't work there's a possibility it could be your starter you can try giving it a few good hits then try to start the car.

Was the rubber plug still on there?
