I used gear speed syncros when I did julian tyranny and it is flawless

 

like terry said, above, no problems with them. Had bought a gsr tranny from lht with grinding 3rd gear. It was too expensive to change the entire gear which is what honda/acura sells... found the synchros on the ebay store, all 5, with some carbon coated, some brass only (pretty sure it was the same as what 97clean said). came within a week or so. Works flawlessly. Terry did the install, if u have more questions.

synchros in tranny for about 6 months. Not a single prob in terms of gears slipping or grinding (other than my own mistakes when missing a gear or something... lol).

^yup I ordered that ebay kit yesterday for the 379 shipped can't wait to try to rebuild my 1st tranny I know that's where the moneys at lol

 

when rebuilding a tranny, you should buy the whole snycro/slider/hub. Dont believe me, ask Neal.

 

That^ is the best way to do it.

 

gearspeed and synchrotech are basicly the same. i forgot which one was first but which ever one it was one guy quit and opened up the other one.

they buy the pieces from honda and the carbon coated ones are something they do to it. i used both of them and they are fine. now i only buy from the guy on ebay because its cheaper than actually going on their website or calling them. if you are going to replace your synchros i would look at the synchro springs to make sure they are fine because a good chunk of the time, thats usually the first thing to go.

 

its funny that this thread is up, i happen to have 3rd and 4th gear carbon synchros from gearspeed (synchrotech) with only 85 miles on them for sale.... I paid 105 shipped for them. will sell for 50.

went with a totally different tranny, so I figured I could get rid of them.

 

why are you selling them?

 

neal showed me why trannys grind and its not from synchros, it needs a new gear set. pm cx civic and get schooled....
