A/C Question

Hey TR, I need some help on my A/C problem in my 94' Del Sol. I just replaced the high pressure line and checked for leaks, which i've found none of. The problem is, is the 2 vents on the passenger side are blowing out super cold, but the other 2 on the driver side are not near as cold. I was told that my thermostat was on the passenger side so that's why those 2 are blowing colder than the other 2. We put 2 cans of freon when we fixed the line, so I was wondering if it just needs another can of freon or if there is another issue. ANY HELP WOULD BE AWESOME! Rep will be given for any help!!

Under the dash.......Are all ducts lined up, plugged in, and in place with plastic sleeves in place?

Is there a slide control lever accessable to the driver,that will open the ducts on each side of the car?-Bob

^i didnt see a slide control lever. where would it be located at? thanks for the help bro.

all 3 vents come from the same duct and blower.the only reason the passanges would be "cooler" would be its passing close to the Evap box

^ya thats what i was told. so do i just take my glove box out and check the ducts?

Your car may be different. Mine are within 8" to the right of the key,
under the dash. Closing off the pass side sends more air to the driver side.

If I cool the driver, the cabin will take care of itself. I also plugged the duct under the carpet on the pass side, and extended the d-side duct almost to the steering wheel.-Bob

Taking the glove box down is easy and a start.....you might also need a flashlight.....-Bob

well my drain tube isnt clogged and i just put in a 3rd can of freon and it purged all the excess out of the bottom of the compresser. now it will blow cold for about 3mins then will blow hot and my idle will be fucked up. when i stop the idle will fluctuate between 900 - 1200 rpm's. then it will stop and blow cold again. i dont know what the fuck is going on, but im tired of throwing money at this stupid shit.

bring it by...i'll tell you whats wrong lol unless ur really in gainesville, then i'm just joking...you need to have someone with an ac manifold hook the gauges up to ur car and see what is going on with the high side and low side simultaneously.

^im really located in gainesville. i have a guy who has the guages and everything but i havent had time to take it by him yet. 2 weeks ago i took it to him and we replaced the high pressure line and put 2 cans of freon in it and it blew out cold. then it just started blowing sorta cold for the rest of the week. this morning i put a 3rd can in and it purged some out of the compresser and is messing with my idle. how many cans are supposed to go in? the motor is a D16y8, if that helps any.
