I just aquired another head for my car..i am going to bring it in and have the head shaved...whats the most i can do??.400???

good call robster. you would be coming close to piston to valve clearance if you went.040 thats .8 compression higher not to mention the fed up retarded timing you would have. you would have to get a cam gear with that set-up but still .030 the most.

30 thou and that head gasket would be placing the head .051 closer to the block which is roughly .95 more compression points. 30 thou is about .75 points and the y8 gasket will give you an additional .2 points. So with stock pistons youre looking at about 10.15:1 compression ratio.

i would start with a number 3 clippers and kinda fade it from the bottom up. u might want to use scissors first depending on how long it is. slowly work your way shorter and shorter. and then bic it with a little shaving cream equally dipersed i would recommend gillette. goodluck
