Which manual tensioner should someone use to replace that auto tensioner? I'll be having an H22a1 in my del Sol (someday, lol) and I've been trying to read up on this stuff. Thanks...

Definitely replace the auto tensioner if you are not doing a manual conversion. A new tensioner is about $60-70 I believe. I'd also replace the waterpump and thermostat while in there.

Don't worry about the oil pump. All h22a's came with an automatic tensioner. These can fail and it is considered good practice to always replace them when doing a timing belt. H23a's and f22's came with a manual tensioner. that can be fitted to the h22a motor and in my opinion makes the h22a more reliable.

i used the manual parts from an f22a1 block and they worked perfectly. you have to go to Honda and purchase a 10mm washer, and a timing belt tensioner alignment bolt for an h22 though.

Here is a good link with all the parts numbers and necessary info for thius swap.
