I am looking for the best car alarm on the market and my local shops sell viper, clifford, and omega. I heard that with viper and clifford all your paying for is the brand name. I was wondering if the "OMEGA K-9 2-way Alarms" are any good. I have a hatchback and I hear they get stolen pretty often so I am looking for the best alarms out there.

 

no such thing as the best on the market they are all around the saame,like u said u pay for name... i myself stand by my thor alarm it was a cheap ebay buy now i have bought 3 used on the last 3 cars i owned the pageing distance is great and it has every thing you could want

 

I just went on ebay and looked at the info on thor alarms and it says they can reach up to 3000ft. The omega reaches around 2500ft or so. I just saw a new Viper alarm that reaches up to 2 miles!!! The omega costs $85 and the viper costs $250, thats the only difference.

if your plaining on being more then a mile away from your car alot then i guess vipers cause damn 2miles is awesome.good,but you also NEED KILL SWITCHES IN THE CAR rememeber a thife will mainly not go for your car if it has a alarm look at all the cars stolen none had alarms,but if you gfeel safer with the viper go for it" altho none my cars have ever been stolen"

it doesnt matter if u got a alarm or not IF THE THIEF WANTS IT THEYLL GET IT. they use tow trucks now days to steal the cars. i dont know of the brands but i know u do need a alarm with a tilt sensor atleast and like rangcrx u need kill switches for those thiefs that dont got tow trucks to steal it. think like a criminal when gettin alarms. they can also short ur power to ur car with a hammer and screw driver without getting in ur car at all so u need a backup battery for your alarm so it dont happen. LOWJACK IS A MUST. i recommend viper (its overrated a lil but worth it) cuz for like 600 u get EVERYTHING lowjack tilt sensor u can even go online yourself and lets say u let ur boy take ur car to the store or something u go online log in and set ur car not to go over a certain speed and when it passes that speed it calls u and lets u know. theres alot of shit about viper thats a plus but i think its a lil overrated cuz there is others that are way better and cheaper.

 

^I'm sorry I don't find that at all to be true. A thef will not steal the car if they know they can be caught.I don't think I have ever seen on tr or no of a car that has been stolen as has a alarm ThAt works...u can't tow a car if the alarm is going off..

 

^ They may try but if you dont wake up to your alarm you fail hard...

Rang preaches about his zoomback and my next car will have it. Look into it, with his recomended Thor alarm you will have more then enough left over to buy zoomback VS just the viper alarm.
