i have a 88 crx d15b2 ...i was on the howard franklin saturday night at mayb 125 mph and i slow down cuz i see a ef and as i let off the gas pedal car backfires and then dies so i m lik i think i blew my motor but then i look at the rpm gage again and the car starts bak up so i push the gas pedal and then the car lik bogs and spit and sputters so i pull over and then push the gas pedal car (car sounds lik a lawnmower)but doent rev past idle lik its lacking gas but no it's .....so today i pull the dizzy apart and the bolt in the rotor falls out so i put it back n and change the cap,and wires,andsparkplugs thinking i have solved my problem i go start the car and its doin the same shit !!! so i pull off the intake carb. bull and then start the car and rev it slowly it still spits a lil and so i start reving it hard it goes back to normal and then bak to the shitty reving smoke comes out the intake when the car is off and you open the throttle ,when i start the car it takes a few turns it starts up idles rough and sputters bad ...and dies after mayb 30secs if you dont hit the gas pedal


any ideas will help alot i have skool tuesday need my car running thanks for read !!

timing not the problem its on timing

how did you check to make sure the timing is on? just asking dont take offense.
make sure the #1 piston is all the way up, the up mark shoud be up on the cam gear and lined up with markings on the cover think on that engine there should be a pointer of some sort around. on the crank pully the lone notch should line up with a mark on the lower cover.. also could check by looking at the rotor in the dizzy, if on timing and the #1 piston is up the rotor will be at the point for the #1 spark plug..
if the timing is on it may be internal dizzy issues like the coil or ignighter being bad...
not sure on exactly what causes the sputtering and such but think its a bad ignighter that would cause that. the car dont have a tach right?

i pulled the numba one plug (tdc)and lined the canm up and checked lower notch matched up perfect............it do have a tach and the tach sits lik the car is fighting to stay on i tak a pick of where it set on and off

ok, so the car idleing real low. do the tach needle bounce all over place?
may be one of those two components in the dizzy that might be bad and causing all whats going on. thinking it is the ignighter.

yea it bounces all over but at low low rpms and want even rev ova 1000 rpms
