i have a pge -315 ecu can a pge-a57 work ? my ecu is acting up and needed to buy a new but cant find a matching ecu so i got a a57 and put it on but it didnt start wanting to seee if the ecu i got is bad or that it wont work if any one can help please help

my ecu starts and runs fine but the transmission goes funky sometimes it shifts good but then it will while drining kick into neutral or seems so but im still in gear and something i can switch gear and it may work or not but if you turn car off and put it in gear and will go i also got a cel code p1607 powertrain control module fault a so thats why i think its the ecu so i need help

sorry for the confusion let me start again

my cl starts and drives (its a automatic) and while driving it will kick it self into neutral
befor it does that the tranny shifts perfect all gears work but when it messes up no gears work . if i turn car off and put it in drive again it will go but also sometimes when i put it in drive it wont go but if i change it to another lower drive like 1 or 2 it will go after that when its going you can put if in regular gear and it will work until it messes up ..
it ran a pcm code saying the pcm faulted . i got a ecu off of ebay from a 2002 cl but it didnt even start my car when i installed it the ecu was a pge-a57 the factory one from my car is a pge-315 i wanted to know if the a57 would work like how p28 and pr4 ecu would start civic /integras because i was wondering if the ecu that i got off ebay was bad ? or i needed a pge-315 b/c thats what it had in it

 

I put back in, the same thing that came out since I know it was working at some point. Different part numbers may not interchange unless the dealer says the old part number has changed to the new one.

If the old ecu is related to the shifting problem and sometimes works,
have you tried cleaning off and lubing the connector pins in case they might be a little corroded?

If the ecu is not related to the shifting problem, I would be looking into the linkage/cable to see what can be adjusted.-Bob

 

my friend had a 02 cl type s sportronic supposedly those trannies are defective. If you search for it on google you will find lots of people with those cars with auto trannies have had to replace/rebuild them. Acura released a "fix" for it that adds a pump with a little tube that feeds fluid from the bottom of the case all the way up through the fill hole on the top. If youre tranny is fucked already it might be too late for that. People that have that have mixed results as well. Its too bad, those cars are nice. Too bad they didnt make many manuals.

Just wondering... is it a black cl type s? Did it have 20 inch rims when u got it? Is the paint a lil faded in the back?

my cl is a type s black on black but i got it from a auction hit in rear no 20s just stock rims fixed the rear but tranny is acting up thanks for the help will post when i fix it just for reference
