Default Need Help! wiring Vtec to an ls engine bay. Knock sensor neccesary?

I just finished dropping in a obd1 GSR swap into my obd1 LS shell. I fallowed the instructions on phearable.net to rewire vtec to the ecu. I have the vtec solenoid wired to A4 and the pressure sensor wired to D6. And i still cannot get vtec to pop. The car is throwing a knock sensor code. Someone told me that the knock sensor could be the reason but at least 3 people have told me it shouldnt matter. Any help will be greatly appreciated! and repp'd.

Oil level is fine.
Car was always at operating temperature.
The car has an original obd1 GSR ecu.
The swap popped vtec fine in the car it was in b4 the LS body.
I tried replacing the solenoid with another known working one and nothing.

you either need a chipped ecu with no knock or hook up the knock sensor any cel and vtec wont work. dont for get if you use the stock gsr intake you have to wire the iabs up.

the wire on the clip side on the plug goes to the ecu pin a17 the wire on the bottom side with the notch goes to ignition + acc. when you hit about 6 grand you can feel it working.

hook the other wire to a fuse in the fuse box. It comes on when you turn the key on. you can test it by reving the engine past 5700. it should move when you do that.
