Did you try cleaning the plug??

I thought there was a fuse that had something to do with the speed sensor..

i took a wire brush type thing and tried cleanin it like that. I even unpplugged the sensor and my engine light has not come on. How long will it take before it throws a code? My car didnt throw the code before also.

It usually takes a few miles or a certain speed. Mine didnt come on for about 3 mins once i hit like 60 and my speedo was dead the whole time.

How the Circuit Works
With the ignition switch in ON (II) or START (III), battery voltage is supplied through fuse 15 and the BLK/YEL wire to the vehicle speed sensor (VSS). The sensor is grounded by the BLK wire to G101 The speedometer and other control units in the circuit supply about 5 volts to the ORN wire. The vehicle speed sensor (VSS) intermittently grounds the ORN wire which generates a pulsed signal in it. The number of pulses per minute increases/decreases with the speed of the car. Assuming you replaced with a new vss, test the gauge. Ground the ORN wire with key on engine off.
