VAFC 2 on h22 del sol chipped p28
i have a question on the vafc 2. is it worth hooking up or just get my ecu chipped. can i do the same tuning with the vafc2 as if i was tuning a chipped out ecu??

Get a chipped ecu, it's more in depth compared to a VAFC.

Chipping is like ~75 bucks unless you know how to do it yourself, then you just order the kit.

If you know how to solder you can do it yourself...you need a bench solder iron (one that stays on all the time and looks similar to a pencil), solder rope (I forget what it is actually called but it sucks up solder), and obviously...thin solder. Order the chip kit from xenocron for like $15 and do it yourself.
Solder rope is referred to as desoldering braid.
Radio Shack has it.
Radio Shack has it.

You want to tune this car? Are you going turbo, nitrous, or high compression N/A? p13 basemaps will be fine unless youre doing any of the above.
VAFCs are not as precise. They alter the input from the sensors into fooling your ecu into throwing in more/less gas into the mix. Plus they are no good for ign. timing changes.
If you already have a socketed chipped ecu, all you have to do if you do go turbo/nitrous/high/low comp is have a tuner make you another basemap once you get the mods on. Then drive it to get a street tune from a tuner.
